I believe that today date information leads to the acquisition of knowledge in all disciplines offered at school. This information was acquired from books and data collected from studies. Technology has made information analysis easier where one is only required to feed information in the computer, and the data is analyzed automatically (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2015). Doctors and nurses have manual guideline information require to be followed to impose knowledge for an effective intervention to the patient condition. The nursing profession aims to provide and mitigate the patient’s problem (Nieswiadomy & Bailey, 2018). Data analysis and knowledge acquired in this era can be used to solve problems and decide on the intervention to improve the condition of the patient faced with a problem.
The scenario I choice is when throughout the shift multiple emergencies cases present in the emergency room that need to be admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU). Then, as a nurse in charge of your unit you need to read, and collect the data from the placement board regarding availabilities of beds on the admission. The type of illness that every patient come with to provide the best care. This type of board is useful in the facility to coordinate with the transferring of patients within the hospital. The healthcare facility uses the data analyzed and used to determine the number of nurses to be deployed in various departments that will meet the patient’s need in the facility. Furthermore, the information is used to make financial decisions about the amount of money required for the people admitted and still in the facility as well. The data is also used to plan for the time needed for the time, and the number of doctors required to ensure an effective care plan.
Nurses in health care facilities learn a lot from the data collected by the facilities. It helps them evaluate their effort from the feedback received when the patient reports back for their clinics. Through the information from the data collected, they test the plan’s relevance carefully. For the not effective plans, nurses improve the care plan intended to yield more results and improve the patients’ condition (Hoeve et al., 2014). I find it interesting to have picked similar subjects.
