The study is designed to explore the use and significance of displaying data visually. The information captured herein examines the experiences and attitudes of young adults. The preferred categorical variable is “Teenager thinks science is useful for everyday life” while the metric variable is “Years science teacher has taught high school science.”

The categorical variable is nominal and has the following groupings;

  2. b) 2=Agree
  3. c) 3=Disagree
  4. d) 4= Strongly Disagree

The metric variable is quantitative; thus, it can be represented using the following visuals.

Analysis

First, the line graph provides a visual representation of the number of years high school teachers have taught science. Notably, there are contours from year 1 to year 25, which indicates changes in the teaching pattern. It shows that many teachers have for more than 25 years. Equally, few teachers have taught for 19 years.

Second, the histogram shows that there is a considerable decrease in the number of teachers that have taught between 10 and 17 years. Although the number of teachers that have taught for 18 years shows an increase, it shows mixed shifts after that.

Third, the box and whisker plot shows that 50% of the teachers have taught for at least eight years. The median indicates that there is a considerable number above the line. However, few teachers have taught for less than eight years.

In conclusion, the three visual displays herein demonstrate that many teachers are likely to teach science permanently. Besides, many science teachers have taught for 26 years, which shows that they have specialized in that area.
