In Chapter Three of Adult Development and Lifetime Assessment, you read about morality and values, which develop over time as we learn and reflect on what is right or wrong. Academic integrity is being honest and responsible in the academic realm. Consider the Chapter Three reading and respond to the prompts below:

  • Describe a specific situation (academic or personal) in which you had to use your moral judgment to make a decision.
  • Would you have made the same decision earlier in your life? Why or why not?
  • In your own words, describe what academic integrity is and why it is important for students at Ashford University to uphold the highest of standards.

Use Adult Development and Lifetime Assessment as your primary source for this discussion, and include at least one in-text citation and a reference in APA formatting at the end of the post. Please be sure to highlight the citation in yellow. Remember, the citation is included in your content and the reference is added at the bottom of your post. Using the toolbar on the textbox window, highlight the citation in yellow. Review the PSY202: Writing Resource for an example.

Reflect on your previous readings regarding morality. Then consider the scenario below and answer the questions that follow.

Larry is an accountant assistant for a small firm. He is a good worker and has a good relationship with the owner of the accounting firm. He is only four courses away from earning his Bachelor’s degree in accounting, which he will need to get a promotion. Larry’s boss has offered to let Larry use his mountain cabin for the upcoming holiday. Larry loves taking his family there because they can go boating, fishing, and hiking, and he knows they could all use the time away from the daily grind. However, Larry has a paper due for his class in four days and he knows he will not be able to complete this on time if he decides to go to the cabin. Larry decides that he will tell his instructor that he is sick with the flu to see if he can get an extension on his paper. He then starts packing his suitcase.
