Work-life balance is critical for the achievement of objectives and in avoiding stress. Time management is crucial in a student’s life, and it defines the productivity of the student, and the results realized in school. Effective time management as a student is achieved by making the priorities to meet and incorporate all the roles.  This is achieved after setting clear goals for each task and making a priority on the most crucial ones (Häfner, Stock, & Oberst, 2015). One of the considerations is to have a clear outline of what to do, when to do it and with a background of its effectiveness at whatever time. For instance, there would be a significant consideration to study in the morning and participate in sport in the evening. This plan outlines time management in focus to my specific roles as a student while maintaining a balance in other functions. Achieving goals in the role of a student require an apparent and focused plan to meet the specific objectives.

Plan to Manage Time

The most crucial aspect will be to prioritize all the daily and weekly tasks.  For instance, there is a need to attend to my weekly readings and discussions on time as well as complete assignments before engagement in co-curricular activities. In other words, there would need to maintain the morning and afternoon hours focused on the classes, assignments and other duties before consideration of the co-curricular activities (William, 2013, June 21). In addition to priorities will critically avoid procrastination at whatever cost especially for all tasks with a high priority. To meet the priorities there will need to be a to-do list to account on the tasks needed to be achieved at whatever time including a clear priority list. There will be an assessment of the possible distractions in the day and adjusting on how to manage them.

To enhance activeness, they will need to create enough time to rest. Creating time to rest between major events will enhance responding to calls and chats from friends and families before taking another involving task. Also allocating time to rest will enhance recharging the brain and refreshing. For instance, by taking a walk out of the study station, having a cup of coffee and ideally thinking creatively generates rest before engaging in the next activity. Assigning time to take meals is also stipulated under my plan to ensure I have enough energy to complete my daily tasks. Also having a clear mind on what meals to have will ensure that I remain active throughout the day.

There will be a consideration to complete every task at a time. The ability to complete tasks requires sequence of completion of each at a time. In other words, focusing on a task at a time and completing it will help in good time use since no disorientations and therefore no uncompleted tasks. For instance, working on a project for the stipulated time and incorporating other time management strategies will assist in engaging in other tasks of equal priority after completion thus avoiding stress and enhancing the presentation of quality work. The schedule of tasks will depend on my productive hours leading to achieving high grades in the class. For instance, engaging in my productive hours for a personal study will help in grasping of ideas, and participating in group discussions in the afternoon at my off-peak hours. A comprehensive schedule of tasks will yield good results. Also, there will be a need for a strategy to say no to some distractions that are not in line with my plan (Cook & Begren, 2011). An amicable no and a slight explanation are of importance since it will support my values and help me in defense to unattended workloads and poor performance and rushed submission of unproductive assignments.

Conclusion

The paper outlines a plan to achieve critical objectives in an engagement of the role as a student. Time management entails incorporation of various key factors that assist a student in generating and give excellent results and as well being able to use the skill even in other roles apart from school. Setting goals gives the direction to follow and toil to achieve them is only through personal discipline to manage time prudently. The most crucial aspect is to set clear goals and to place a priority on them.
