“Making sure we all achieve our BSN by 2020” was a phrase I often heard in nursing school. Who would have predicted that we would be in such dire need of it? When I was a preceptor nurse during the COVID-19 outbreak, I saw that the population of newly graduated nurses had changed. In this time of need, nurses from various disciplines, including childcare and education, as well as those who are close to or have reached retirement age, have stepped forward to help. However, this implies a responsibility to provide positive patient outcomes with a foundation in higher education rather than to act hastily. To succeed, I must comprehend higher education from the perspective of a nurse. It will benefit my professional growth and enhance patient outcomes in the neighborhood.

Clinical education enhances one’s knowledge, abilities, and competence. I’ve already learned to prepare for my future as a nurse through evidence-based procedures. I’m confident that the evidence-based training I got as part of my BSN will enable me to do just that.
