NURS 6053 Assignment Personal Leadership Philosophies Example
Core Values
The fundamental principles that underpin my personal beliefs and guide my actions are centered around the concepts of integrity, empathy, accountability, continual advancement, and inclusivity. As a leader, my actions and decisions are guided by a set of principles that prioritize ethical conduct, demonstrate understanding and compassion towards others, assume responsibility for my commitments, aim for personal growth, and foster an inclusive workplace where all individuals feel appreciated.
Personal Mission Statement
My mission is to cultivate inspiration and empowerment among individuals, enabling them to achieve their utmost capabilities in both personal and professional realms. I aim to establish an organizational environment characterized by trust, collaboration, and creativity, fostering the growth and success of individuals, and enabling them to make significant achievements and attain goals. Through cultivating a profound sense of purpose and developing a strong sense of belonging, my aspiration is to effectively guide and lead teams toward achieving success, all the while maintaining an unwavering commitment to my core principles.
Personal Vision Statement
I envisage a future where my leadership serves as an inspiration for fostering positive transformations, wherein individuals are driven to explore and maximize their inherent capabilities, and wherein innovation and inclusivity serve as fundamental pillars for achieving our objectives. I see myself as a facilitator of progress, assisting individuals in transforming their aspirations into tangible achievements and effecting enduring change in the global sphere by fostering shared values and a steadfast dedication to exceptionalism.
CliftonStrengths Assessment
The CliftonStrengths Assessment has identified a number of prominent themes that characterize my leadership strengths. These themes provide vital insights into my inherent strengths and abilities, which may be utilized to shape my leadership philosophy. My five top themes from the assessment are futuristic, belief, achiever, responsibility, and arranger (Gallup, 2019).
I am motivated by the prospects of the future and endeavor to actualize potential into tangible outcomes. I engage in the process of envisioning future scenarios with great clarity, and exert persistent effort towards manifesting those envisioned outcomes. Additionally, I possess steadfast and unwavering core values that motivate me to diligently engage in meaningful endeavors and uphold high ethical standards. I possess a fervent dedication to effectuating positive change while upholding principles of honesty and integrity.
Furthermore, I have a strong work ethic and excellent endurance. I enjoy being active and productive, and I put in a lot of effort to get tangible results. I also take pleasure in involving people in events and giving them a sense of belonging. I hold myself psychologically accountable for my commitments and uphold enduring principles like integrity and dependability. I have high expectations for myself and work hard to uphold moral principles in whatever I do. Lastly, I am adept at setting up resources for optimal production. I get along well with individuals from diverse backgrounds and value opportunities to put my knowledge and abilities to use in achieving ambitions.
Two Key Behaviors to Strengthen
I am strongly committed to my basic ideals, but I also appreciate the need of developing empathy to better comprehend the thoughts and feelings of others. I want to get better at connecting with people on a deeper level, paying attention to what they have to say, and showing that I genuinely care. Stuart et al. (2020) assert that empathy can be learned and it demonstrates an authentic and emotionally intelligent leader. Therefore, I aspire to become more empathetic in my daily activities.
I take responsibilities seriously; thus, it can be challenging for me to delegate tasks. I am aware of the need to improve my delegation abilities. Delegation puts team members in a trustworthy position and divide the workload wisely, enabling them to develop and make greater contributions to a team’s success (Barrow & Sharma, 2023).
Development Plan
I will practice active listening, attend emotional intelligence training, and get feedback from coworkers on my communication and interpersonal skills to improve my empathy. I will also engage with team members personally and care about their well-being.
To strengthen my delegation skills, I will identify jobs to assign and gradually give team members more responsibility. As posited by Walker et al. (2021), I will give clear directions, expectations, and support. I will also learn from mentors or leaders who delegate well.

NURS 6053 Assignment Personal Leadership Philosophies Instructions
Many of us can think of leaders we have come to admire, be they historical figures, pillars of the industry we work in, or leaders we know personally. The leadership of individuals such as Abraham Lincoln and Margaret Thatcher has been studied and discussed repeatedly. However, you may have interacted with leaders you feel demonstrated equally competent leadership without ever having a book written about their approaches.

What makes great leaders great? Every leader is different, of course, but one area of commonality is the leadership philosophy that great leaders develop and practice. A leadership philosophy is basically an attitude held by leaders that acts as a guiding principle for their behavior. While formal theories on leadership continue to evolve over time, great leaders seem to adhere to an overarching philosophy that steers their actions.
What is your leadership philosophy? In this Assignment, you will explore what guides your own leadership.

RE: Discussion – Week
Lenick,
I enjoyed reading your post. I can relate to many aspects of your post. I am an includer as well which gives each person a sense of purpose to feel needed. I really like that within the includer paragraph it explains that the accepting nature of an includer is to respect each person’s differences and each person should be created equal (Strengths Finder, 2018). This is truly the way I am as well. You explain that you would like to strengthen relationship building. Relationships are important and with a good relationship comes easy communication and makes each person easily approachable. Saleh, O’Connor, Al-Subhi, Alkattan, Al-Harbi, and Patton (2018) explain the importance of establishing strategies in initiating, developing and maintaining professional relationships with their staff. Another concept that is important is to have an active view on all leadership rather than a passive view (Manning, 2016). Thanks for the great post.
Roxanne

RE: Discussion – Week 5
Lenick,
Thank you for your post! It is excellent that you are self aware of your strengths and weaknesses. I too received consistency, and achiever among my five strengths. I will say, I was very pleased with my feedback from the survey. It is me 110%. I think it is amazing how different everyone is with their own personality and characteristics but still each individually can make excellent leaders. I enjoyed reading your post and I would like to say thank you. Within the medical field some find it very hard to care for those that do not share the same traits or standards as they do. Thus the same standard level of care is not delivered to that patient. It is pertinent that every patient is treated the same regardless of their background, upbringing, or personal beliefs. This is hard, very hard at times I know. But nursing is one of the most trusted professions and patients look up to us for advice and learning on how to better their life. I have seen the way patients are treated have affects on them. It can make them better, or completely scatter them. So thank you for being one of many that help treat others equally. I know it is not easy, and it truly is a special talent.
