When you enrolled in this class, you brought with you an area of psychology in which you were interested, as well as a general research topic. Remember that your dissertation topic needs to be appropriate to your academic specialization. Students in the social psychology specialization, for example, should not be completing a dissertation on a topic more appropriate to clinical psychology. This is a conversation you should have with your chair. The literature review you conducted in the literature review class helped you learn about your area of research interest, as you did your classwork, independent work, and personal experience.
