The Assignment (2–3 pages)

  • Write a purpose statement using the “Final Project Template.”
  • Generate research question(s) and a set of hypotheses based upon the gap(s) in the research that you have identified. Be sure to indicate what constructs you might measure and how you might measure them. State the hypotheses by using appropriate population parameters and statistical notation.

Job Analysis for Competitive Advantage

Statement of the Problem

Many organizations are currently having a difficult time to identify the right person for the right job. Conflict and unclearness is commonly the leading factor in this process. There is need to examine the employees so that the firm can reduce turnover ratio and increase productivity through proper job analysis which is the foundation of a successful recruitment process. No single perfect method exists in the identification of the right person for the right job. This research is based on job analysis for a successful recruitment process and evaluation process. Different tools are required in this process. To prove their value-added and continuous use, assessment and evaluation need to show their link, predictive power, and job performance. (Harvey, 2011).  The defining factor of an organization effectiveness and success is the quality of its human resources.

Lack of a systematic structure of job portfolio leads to inefficiency and low productivity. Job analysis involves, job design, job evaluation, job security and job succession planning results to flawed recruitment process when undertaken without due care (Harvey, 2011).  Due to such ineffective practices, it leads to high turnover. Therefore there is a gap to identify a perfect job analysis procedure to enhance efficient recruitment, and this research aims to find the contributing factors to this problem. The study will look into: Job analysis as a mechanism for right people to right job with the required skills, a division of workforce and uniformity or deformities and finally departmental structuring as a roadmap to integration.
